Patryk Szmidt is a polish-canadiana cinematographer. He holds Canadian and Polish (EU) passports. 

Patryk grew up in a small town in southwestern Poland, near the border with the Czech Republic in lower-silesia area. Growing up in the 90’s and inspired by American music entertainment, he began his journey into music production. Soon after, he discovered photography and film, which left a strong impression on him due to their power of communication. After a few years, he realized that filmmaking is his true undiscovered passion and the field he wanted to continue growing in. Shortly after, he started working on commercials, short films and documentaries.

He worked with several production companies on TV series, documentaries, commercials and independent projects, gaining the necessary experience to work as a director of photography. 

Patryk is a associate member of Canadian Society of Cinematographers.
